Ms. Jia was Adam Ziyu Gong's Chinese language teacher from grades one to four at primary school. Her patient teaching laid a solid foundation for Adam's textual expression. They first met in 2003 and maintained contact, sometimes close and sometimes distant, over the next 20 years. 20 years later, many things had changed. Ms. Jia invited Adam to have some portraits taken of her. What remained unchanged was the gentle compassion on her face.
